This BBC interview with Nina Simone Nina Simone is such an inspiration to me in regards to her ideals, career, and activist dedication, not to mention she knew how to use her voice.
A Lady Bird holds herself in high standard, never settling, always elevating and approaches life with class. She flies high, flies right but most of all she stays fly.
LADY BIRD SF's SOUNDTRACK OF MY LIFE: September 2008: Tribute to Tupac
This month 12 years ago I remember sitting at the library, on 24th and Bartlet in the Mission doing research with one of my home girls for a humanities class. We picked up a paper and it read that Tu Pac passed September, Friday the 13th 1996 at 4:03. My girl started bawling. Me? I was sad but I didn't cry. I just felt cold. As a youth emotions were irrelevant to me it took me, I was numb so to speak. But something that I did feel was inspired by Pac's life, his charisma and his lyrics the good and bad, he was truly blessed with a gift, and when his time was up it was up. But he had enough ambition to create a Hip Hop Legend. Big ups to Pac.
Some say he's not gone. Me I feel that he's still alive just because he's still inciting thought in peoples lives making them dig deeper than what's on the surface. ...well at least that's what he does for me.
